Terms of Service

Welcome to Sonar. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Sonar website, dashboard, and audit tool (together, the "Service"), operated by Sonar Inc. ("Sonar," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. What Sonar Does

Sonar analyzes business sales data and related information you provide — uploaded sales exports, questionnaire answers, and customer review excerpts — using AI to generate an estimated revenue-leak report and answer follow-up questions about it.

2. Not Professional Advice

Sonar's reports, health scores, dollar estimates, and chat answers are generated by an AI model and are directional estimates based on the data you provide. They are not financial, accounting, legal, or professional business advice, and are not guaranteed to be accurate or complete. You're responsible for verifying any finding before acting on it, and for decisions you make based on Sonar's output.

3. Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to act on behalf of the business you use Sonar for. You're responsible for keeping your login secure and for all activity under your account.

4. Subscriptions, Trials, and Billing

Sonar is offered as a monthly subscription. New accounts may start with a free trial period. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your payment method will be charged automatically at the start of the paid subscription and on each renewal after that. You can cancel anytime from your dashboard — cancellation stops future billing but does not refund the current billing period.

5. Your Data

You retain ownership of the business data you upload or enter. By using the Service, you grant Sonar a license to process that data — including sending relevant portions to our AI provider (Anthropic) — solely to generate your reports and chat responses. See our Privacy Policy for details on how your data is handled and who it's shared with.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• use the Service for any business you're not authorized to represent;
• attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or resell the Service;
• upload data you don't have the right to share; or
• use the Service in a way that could disable, overburden, or impair it.

7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sonar Inc. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for business decisions made based on Sonar's output. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York State, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
