Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Sonar ("we," "us") collects, how we use it, and who we share it with.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: your email address, used to sign you in.
- Business data you provide: sales summary statistics (not raw transaction-level records) from an uploaded POS export, or your answers to Sonar's business questionnaire, plus any customer review excerpts you paste in.
- Audit history: every report Sonar generates for your account, stored so future audits can compare against past ones.
- Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor — Sonar does not receive or store your full card number.
- Usage information: basic technical logs (e.g. request timestamps) used for security and to enforce fair-use limits.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- generate your audit reports and chat answers;
- maintain your audit history so reports can be compared over time;
- process billing through Stripe;
- secure and operate the Service; and
- communicate with you about your account.
3. Who We Share It With
We share information with the following service providers, solely to operate Sonar:
- Anthropic (our AI provider) — receives the business data relevant to generating your report and chat answers.
- Supabase — hosts our database and handles authentication.
- Stripe — processes payments and manages your subscription.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with any other third party for their own marketing purposes.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account and audit history for as long as your account is active, so you can track progress over time. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Contact below).
5. Your Choices
You can access your audit history from your dashboard at any time. To request a copy of your data or full account deletion, contact us using the details below.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures — including encryption in transit and access controls — to protect your information. No system is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's Privacy
Sonar is a business tool not directed at or intended for use by anyone under 18.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the effective date above when we do.
